Sorry for the confusion, but another email was accidentally sent out this Tuesday afternoon. The study break was held last night, and the publicity email was sent last night as a reminder, but did not get through the mail server until this afternoon for some reason.

Again, there is no study break tonight (Tuesday).

06 Phantom of the Opera!

April 19th and 20th! (We spread our tickets over two days to avoid conflicts!)

Ticket sales:
Tickets $10, limit 2 per 2006 ID

Tickets are FIRST COME FIRST SERVE and will be sold on the following days WHILE THEY LAST:

Monday 4/11 from 8 - 9 AM in LOBBY 10!!! This early booth is so we are fair to everyone.

And in the STUDENT CENTER:
Mon 4/11 from 11 AM - 4 PM
Tues 4/12 from 12 AM -4 PM
Wed 4/13 from 12 AM - 3 PM

Class of 2006 Sweatshirts and Girl's Shorts will be available at the Tuesday and Wednesday booths.

FAQ

Please note that SEATING IS ASSIGNED based on the order that you buy your tickets. If you want to sit next to certain people, then you should BUY YOUR TICKETS AT THE SAME TIME.

-When and where is the show?

You may choose to attend one of the following shows:
7:30pm on Tuesday, Apr. 19
7:30pm on Wednesday, Apr. 20

Both shows will be at The Opera House in Boston, located on 539 Washington Street in Boston.

The show will begin at 8:00, but it is STRONGLY suggested that you get there earlier.

=======Information regarding the night of the show=======
Doors to the theatre open forty minutes prior to curtain. Latecomers arriving after the curtain has gone up will be held in the outside theatre lobby and seated at the discretion of the theatre manager at the appropriate point in the performance. Please be aware that there is also a seating hold at the start of Act Two.

No photography or recording of any kind (audio or video) is allowed in the theatre. Smoking is not permitted in the theatre building.

We've expanded our capacity for the formal. There are 20 tickets left, and they will be available TOMORROW:

from 8 to 9am in LOBBY 10. Look for KIM WU and CLARENCE LEE at the booth. There should be virtually no class conflicts during this time, so this gives everyone an equal chance to get tickets.

from NOON to 5PM in the STUDENT CENTER 1st FLOOR. Look for BRENDAN SMITH or other council members. We will also have 06 Sweatshirts and 06 Booty Shorts for girls available at this booth.

Class of 2006 Formal at Top of the Hub

Doors will open at 8pm. Dinner at Top of the Hub includes an appetizer, main course, and dessert (not buffet style), and will be served at 8:30pm. Please be on time!

We'll also have a performance by Vudoo Soul!

Class of 2006 Ski Trip!

The bus will leave from 84 Mass Ave (the student center) on this SATURDAY at 7AM. The trip should take about two hours.

The bus will depart from Loon Mountain at 4:30pm. Please do not be late.

IF YOU PLAN TO RENT SKIS OR SNOWBOARDS, YOU *MUST* BRING $25 CASH

Want to go skiing or snowboarding one last time before the term gets under way? Come on the Class of 2006 Ski Trip! Saturday, February 5 at Loon Mountain in New Hampshire.

The $15 ticket includes the cost of charter bus transportation and the cost of the lift tickets.

You may bring your own skis or snowboards, or you can rent them from the resort for $25.

We plan to arrive at Loon Mountain at 9:00am, and to leave at 4:30pm.

Please check back for more updates in the coming days, including exact bus departure times.

Ocean's 12 and Sweatshirts Update...

-The council will be running a booth tomorrow at the UA Holiday Cheers table on the 1st floor of the student center. The hours for the booth are 11-4.

-Ocean's 12 actual physical tickets with Loew's Munch Money can be redeemed tomorrow at the booth. We still have 80 tickets up for sale, so come buy one for $5! You get $5 of food/drink at the theater and a free Movie! The tickets are being printed at Loews Boston Common Theater right now, so they will arrive some time tomorrow. They may not be there right at 11AM, so just stop by several times during the day and you'll catch them.

-If you can't make our booth today, Sweats and Tickets can be obtained at the
06 Holiday Party tomorrow in Twenty Chimneys from 2:30-4PM. Children from East End House are coming, there will be a gift exchange, and a chance for any of you to make a small difference in one of their lives just by brightening their day. Food and Drinks will also provided. Come by before heading over to the Movie Theater.

-We will be taking more 2006 sweatshirt orders, to be delivered in Mid-January. If you love that hoodie you see all your friends wearing, it's not to late to get one! Write your name and size down and pay when you receive it. These will be the last orders of the 2006 class sweatshirt.

The East End House serves low-income families in Cambridge and the children (ages 5-12) would LOVE to see you at the party. There will be FOOD, GAMES, SANTA, an MIT JUGGLER, ARTS & CRAFTS!

So come join the fun as we celebrate the END of the term and the BEGINNING of the holiday season with community service.

Also, it's not too late to pick up tags for the Giving Tree in room 4-107. Many of these children are recipients of the Giving Tree, meaning your gift may be one of the few that they will receive this season. Help brighten theirs and other children's holiday in an unforgettable way!

The showing is during the AFTERNOON, giving you plenty of time to grab food and see the Logs concert later that night.

Each ticket includes a $5 food voucher, so it's essentially FREE!

Tickets will be on sale for $5 in Lobby 10 on Monday, December 6.

Sorry that the tickets sold out so fast - 80 was the maximum number of tickets that we could buy for this show's date. We have more shows coming up in our Broadway series, more to come on if we can increase the number of tickets.

We have meetings every Monday at 10pm in the UA office, 4th floor student center, W20-401. Feel free to stop by. If for some reason our meeting is rescheduled one week, we'll post it. Also, we usually don't have meetings on a Monday when there is no school.

-Where and when can we buy tickets?
We will be selling tickets on the first floor of the Student Center on Monday, November 8 from 12-4pm. Be sure to bring your Student ID! There is a limited supply of tickets, so first come, first serve. Any remaining tickets will be sold on Tuesday.

Boba Tea Study Break

Today we're having a Boba Tea study break with boba tea from Cassava Boba Lounge in Boston on Boylston Street (right off Mass Ave to the right when coming from MIT). Cassava was opened a couple years ago by two MIT alums!!

The study break will be held in Lobby 10 starting at 11am while supplies last. We have original, green and strawberry tea.

FYI: Cassava has discounted boba $2.95 for MIT students with ID on Mondays 6-8pm.
